Evil Empire Orchestra

06-09 Evil Empire Orchestra signs with Dox and releases first single

Recently we announced that the Belgian band Evil Empire Orchestra had signed with Dox Records. Today the band gives a first preview of its upcoming EP with a new single ‘Use You’.

Evil Empire Orchestra creates a crossover between pyschedelica, dirty soul and garagefunk with vocals that sound like a mix of Beth Gibbons and Janis Joplin. Use You is a protest song. Smash everything! The pianist hammers on his keyboard like a wild stallion and out of nowhere the singer sweeps past telling us not to let ourselves be used. Or a reference to assholes in power in 2017.

The single is the first of seven songs from the EP (recorded live at Jet Studio in Brussels) which is scheduled for a release on Friday the 13th of October (could there be a more perfect date?). ‘Use You’ is now available on all digital platforms and be sure to also checkout the video below.
